This policy explains what Daily Deals Detector ("Daily Deals Detector," "we," "us") collects when you use Daily Deals Detector, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be honest about the rest. If anything here is unclear, email us at contact@dailydealsdetector.com and we'll explain it.
The short version
- You can browse deals without an account. Creating an account or joining our email list is optional.
- We use basic analytics to understand which deals are useful. We don't sell your personal information.
- Some outbound links are affiliate links. Our affiliate partners may set cookies when you click through to a store — that's how a purchase gets credited to us. It never changes your price.
- We never run a browser extension and never overwrite anyone else's affiliate links or cookies.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — if you sign up, we store your email address and a securely hashed password so you can log in and keep your saved deals.
- Saved deals and preferences — the deals you save and settings you choose, tied to your account.
- Email list — if you subscribe to our deal digest, we store your email address to send it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Deal submissions and messages — if you submit a deal or contact us, we keep what you send so we can act on it.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics — standard, mostly aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, which deals get clicked, approximate region, device and browser type, and referring site. We use this to find and prioritize better deals, not to build a detailed profile of you.
- Outbound click logs — when you click "Get this deal," we record that the click happened (which deal, when) so we can measure what's useful and reconcile any affiliate commissions. We send you to the merchant's real page without altering it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for a few plain purposes:
- Essential cookies — to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences (for example, light or dark mode). The site doesn't work properly without these.
- Analytics cookies — to measure usage as described above.
- Affiliate cookies (set by our partners, not by us) — when you click an affiliate link to a store, the affiliate network and/or the merchant may set a cookie in your browser so that any purchase you make gets credited to Daily Deals Detector. This is how we earn a commission. These cookies are controlled by those third parties under their own privacy policies, and they do not change the price you pay.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site (like logging in) may stop working. If you block affiliate cookies, the site still works — we just may not get credit for a purchase.
Affiliate networks and how outbound links work
Daily Deals Detector is free to use, and we make money partly through affiliate links. When you click through to a store and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We may work with affiliate networks and merchant programs including Amazon Associates, Awin, ShareASale, Sovrn, Skimlinks, FlexOffers, and eBay Partner Network, among others. When you follow an affiliate link, that partner may receive the fact that the click came from Daily Deals Detector and may set a cookie as described above, under their own privacy policy.
We route outbound clicks through our own link (so we can count the click), then send you straight to the merchant's genuine page. We do not overwrite links, coupons, or cookies set by creators or other sites, and we run no browser extension. For more on how we make money, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
How we use your information
- To run the site: log you in, show and save deals, and send the email digest you asked for.
- To improve the site: understand which deals are useful and fix what isn't working.
- To measure and reconcile affiliate performance in aggregate.
- To respond to your messages and deal submissions.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Daily Deals Detector (for example, hosting, analytics, and email delivery), and with affiliate networks as part of the outbound-click process described above. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users. These providers act on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own unrelated purposes.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete or de-identify it, except where we need to keep a limited record for legal, security, or accounting reasons (for example, commission records).
Your choices and rights
- Access or correct your account information from your account settings, or by emailing us.
- Delete your account and associated personal data — from your account settings or by request.
- Unsubscribe from the email digest using the link in any email, or by emailing us.
- Control cookies through your browser settings.

Children
Daily Deals Detector is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, tell you. Continuing to use Daily Deals Detector after a change means you accept the updated policy.
